CDC Director Dr Robert Redfield confirmed an independent expert panel vote that healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities would be the first to receive the limited supply of a vaccine against the coronavirus. Now the country is awaiting an FDA decision on Pfizer and BioNTech’s EUA application for its two-jab coronavirus vaccine candidate.
The regulatory agency is due to meet on Dec. 10 to discuss the request, and Pfizer has indicated it is ready to ship the supply within 24 hours of approval.
