Liverpool fans notice something about Burnley's goal – and they are FUMING

Liverpool fans see the red – after claiming to have committed a clear foul before Burnley's first goal.

The Reds scored a goal behind them after only six minutes of play in the deciding game at Anfield.

Ashley Westwood scored directly from the corner when his ball defeated Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson at the guard post.

However, supporters quickly pointed out that the Brazilian goalkeeper had been the victim of a foul while he was trying to get to the center, and expressed his frustration on social media.

A fan wrote: "Surely a fault on Alisson ?! Tarkowski all over him, preventing him from moving."

James Tarkowski of Burnley seeks to offend Liverpool's Alisson before the ball comes into play

@ SebastienHowle1 unleashed: "The free kick of the studio was sanctioned by the goalkeeper and yet a referee and a linesman who just looks at the incident do not like it."

This is a new blow to the title hopes for Liverpool after the officials missed an offside decision in preparation for one of Manchester City's goals on Saturday.

City leads the title race in front of Jurgen Klopp's team, but was a little lucky to have allowed his first goal against Watford to stay up.

Raheem Sterling seemed to be in an offside position when the ball was played before finishing to put his team ahead in the 3-1 win.

@LFCPhiRann expressed his anger over the two decisions and said: "The officials gave City an offside goal yesterday, then they missed that foul on Alisson.

@markgoldbridge lamented the lack of video assistance in the Premier League this season.

He said: "Final foul on Alisson, but scored goal and Burnley, one more place! Next year, VAR quits that."
