The debate around which referees favor some teams more than others has raged since the start of football – and the recent introduction of VAR has only fueled the fire.

But what do the numbers say?
Looking back on the facts and figures of the last five seasons of Premier League football, Liverpool committed the most faults of any team before receiving a card.
In fact, the Reds get one warning on average for every 7.72 fouls they commit, with Jurgen Klopp’s men earning 10 fewer cards per season than any other top-flight team – on the other end of the spectrum are find West Ham who see a map. distributed for each 5.48 fouls.
Interestingly though, the Premier League champions commit the fewest fouls per season compared to any other top-flight team.
On average over the past five years, Liverpool have committed 367.6 fouls per season and, although Manchester City comes in second, at the opposite end of that table is Manchester United.
The Old Trafford club have committed the most fouls per season compared to any other team in the division at 445.8 per season on average over the past five seasons.
