According to former Manchester City defender Danny Mills, Liverpool will have to rely on "the perfect storm" to win the Premier League on Sunday.
The Reds host the Wolves at Anfield on the final day of the Premier League season, hoping to secure a first league title since 1990.
But after Vincent Kompany's long-term strike helped Man City beat Leicester and get back to the top of the table, Jurgen Klopp will rely on the defending champion to qualify for Brighton.
Mills spent five years as a city player before the club won the regular title. If he did not want to rule out a triumph in Liverpool, the 41-year-old thinks the Blues will end the season as planned.
"If City scores early, he could win four or five," Mills told Love Sport Drive (Monday to Friday from 15:30 to 19:00).
"If Brighton lasts until half-time and City starts to be a little nervous and tries to force a bit of discussion and Liverpool wins across the country, it makes him a bit more nervous.
"But City has so many qualities and Pep Guardiola knows how to win in this situation. I think he already said, "Guys, you've been great for two years, so come out and have fun. Go out and play.
"It's almost dangerous [for Brighton] they play with this freedom and this relaxation.
"Kevin De Bruyne could also be in shape and what player he has to come back at such a time."
Liverpool will be deprived of Roberto Firmino when he greets the Wolves, although they hope to welcome Jordan Henderson, Andrew Robertson and Mo Salah again for their vital confrontation.
Meanwhile, City will have an FA Cup final to fear in a week – they will face Watford at Wembley for a potential treble – but Mills feels there is little to worry about now that the season is up.
"Manchester City will play the same way, anyway. It does not matter if he stays 0-0 in the 87th minute, Ederson will still play with the ball, "added Mills.

"They have players of such quality that they support them when this opportunity arises, whether in the first minute or in the 90th minute.

Even if City lost, they could still be champions if Liverpool failed to defeat the Wolves.
But Mills believes that it is only likely if they realize that the title is inaccessible.
