Liverpool squad news confirmed as Mohamed Salah decision is made

Mohamed Salah was benched for Liverpool’s Premier League clash at Crystal Palace this afternoon.

But Joel Matip returned to the starting lineup as one of three changes to the squad that beat Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

Salah’s place in the attack is taken by Takumi Minamino, who joins Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in the three attackers.

Another player to be named among the substitutes is Curtis Jones, impressive in recent weeks, with Naby Keita coming in instead for his first Premier League start in almost a month.

The skipper Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum continue in the engine room.

Matip missed the game midweek with a back spasm that forced him to halftime last weekend at Fulham but reverted to his partner Fabinho at center-back.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson remain in the back, with Alisson Becker in goal.

With Premier League clubs allowed to nominate nine players to the bench starting this weekend, Adrian is back among the substitutes alongside compatriot Caoimhin Kelleher.
