Sadio Mane scored twice – including a high-heel – in the first period to help Liverpool win 5-0 against Watford in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The victory at Anfield allowed the Reds to remain at the top of the standings, one point ahead of Manchester City, themselves winners of West Ham United.
Liverpool took advantage in less than nine minutes when Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered superb beauty to Mane, who slipped between central defenders of Watford and brought him home.
But it was Mane's second score, 10 minutes later, which seduced Anfield's boisterous crowd. Alexander-Arnold found Mane, completely free and in front of Watford's goalkeeper. Ben Foster. A first heavy contact was quickly redeemed with a stellar rear heel that found the bottom of the net.
Divock Origi, from Roberto Firmino, injured, consolidated Liverpool's lead in the 66th minute with a solo shot from the left wing. Virgil van Dijk added a goal on the head in the 79th minute, then three minutes later.
Watford, who entered the match after a 5-1 win over Cardiff City, remains in seventh place.
