The largest development event of the year for Microsoft begins Monday.

James Martin / CNET

Every year, Microsoft enthusiasts travel to Seattle for the company's Build Conference. During these two days, which overlap with Google's developer conference (held at a distance of 1340 km south of Mountain View, California and from Tuesday onMicrosoft should provide updates on its Cortana voice assistant, Azure cloud-based server rental and, of course, its Windows software.

The event will be moderated by CEO Satya Nadella, whose priority since becoming CEO in 2014 has been to turn Microsoft, the hated contender, into a trusted partner. This approach is paying off and helping to make Microsoft one of the few companies to be valued at most than 1 trillion dollars. "You join here not to be cool, but to make others cool," he told CNET in an interview last year. "You want to be cool by doing that, it's the result that counts."

Nadella can also address broader political issues, such as privacy. At the event last year, he said that privacy on the Internet was "human right"Another issue he might be addressing is Microsoft's work culture, which is being studied for what some women call"boys club"culture within the company.

When

The rest of the tech industry usually starts speaking at 10:00, but not Microsoft. The software giant begins its event at 8:30 am Pacific time. Monday, May 6th. Message received: Microsoft is super pumped to start the day.

Or

You can always watch on the Microsoft Build website, but we will also have live streaming here on this page as well.

What we are waiting for

It will probably start as usual, Nadella speaking in front of the crowd. But then expect the nerd flag to fly high. Microsoft is proud of the fact that its developers' conferences are aimed at the community and that they present at least one demonstration live coding on stage. So, prepare your keyboards.
