Liz Phair shares video for new song “Hey Lou”: Watch

Liz Phair released her first new song in two years. “Hey Lou” is a tribute to Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson, and the accompanying music video features puppet versions of iconic artists. The single references Anderson’s classic track “O Superman,” Andy Warhol, and more. Find out below.

“Hey Lou” is the last single from Phair’s upcoming studio album. Sober. The song was produced by longtime collaborator Brad Wood. Regarding the song, Phair said in a press release, “Have you ever wondered what love for your favorite celebrity couple looks like behind closed doors? Hey Lou imagines a day in the life of two music legends, whose union has been an inspiration for rock groups and a source of curiosity for die-hard romantics.

Phair shared his latest single “Good Side” in October 2019, coinciding with the release of his memoir “Horror Stories”. She released Girly-Sound in Guyville: the 25th anniversary box set in 2018; his last album of original music was from the 2010s Funstyle. At the announcement of Sober, Fair said the record was “tentatively” released last summer. The album has yet to materialize.
