Today (August 26th), we celebrate Women's Equality Day and nearly 140 musicians – including Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish and many others – have joined the new Planning Parenthood campaign entitled #BansOffMyBody to support reproductive rights and access to abortion. The artists signed their names in a new full-page ad published in the August 24 issue of Display panel to raise public awareness of the danger of widespread bans on early abortion in the country. Supporters are also encouraged to add their name to a national petition calling for the lifting of abortion bans. Planned Parenthood is aiming for a goal of 500,000 signatures by Roe v. Anniversary. Other musicians who signed the campaign include Bon Iver, the 1975, Nicki Minaj, Fiona Apple, HAIM, Troye Sivan, Stallion Megan Thee, Miley Cyrus and Kacey Musgraves. See all the names in the ad below.
"I am proud to stand up for Planned Parenthood in its fight for fair and equitable access to reproductive rights," Billie Eilish said in a statement. "We can not live freely and move freely around the world when our basic right to access the reproductive health care we need is attacked. Every person deserves the right to control his body, his life and his future. "
In recent months, Ariana Grande and Travis Scott donated the proceeds of their concerts to Planned Parenthood.
