Lockout in Columbine, other schools in Colorado triggered by an "army" woman, "extremely dangerous": officials

Colorado authorities are looking for an "armed" 18-year-old woman, deemed "extremely dangerous" after the lockout of several schools earlier Tuesday.

"Locking means as usual inside buildings, restricted entry / exit", Jeffco Public Schools tweeted.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, as well as the FBI's Denver office, posted a plea Twitter for information on Sol Pais, who they say went to Colorado on Monday night and "made threats".

The authorities described her as a white, brown-haired woman measuring about five feet five inches. She was last seen "in the foothills of Jefferson County" wearing a black t-shirt, camouflage pants and black boots, officials said.

The message to the public arrived a few hours after the sheriff's office tweeted that they were investigating what appeared to be "a credible threat that could involve schools". As a result, many schools in the Columbine area and Mountains were locked out, officials said, adding that all students were safe and the authorities there.

Among them was Columbine High School, school officials said. Twitter. The situation occurred a few days before the 20th anniversary of the deadly shootings on April 20, 1999.

Authorities urged anyone with information to call the FBI hotline at (303) 630-6227 and warned against any approach of the woman.
