A Chicago rapper was shot dead in a hail of bullets moments after being released from prison and was fitted with an ankle bracelet, according to reports.

When London’s Sylvester, 31, left Cook County jail shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday night, gunmen got out of two parked cars and shot him 64 times, according to a police report obtained by the Chicago Tribune.

Two women were also injured in the ambush – a 60-year-old woman who had just posted Sylvester’s bail and a 35-year-old woman who worked at the prison, CWBChicago said.

Sylvester rapped locally as KTS Dre and had KTS tattooed on his neck next to a target board, according to the report. KTS stands for “Kill to Survive,” the outlet said.

Sylvester had just been “released” from police custody and fitted with an electronic monitoring device as part of his bail, according to the police report.

The rapper had been jailed for violating his release conditions on a gun charge in 2020, the Tribune said. He posted a $ 5,000 bond on Friday, according to the newspaper.

Sylvester was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to reports.

The shooters fled in their vehicles in different directions and police are now looking for surveillance footage of the area, according to reports.
