Pop star Britney Spears’ longtime manager has resigned, saying it was in the singer’s “best interests” given her plans to retire.
Larry Rudolph sent the letter to Spears’ father, James Spears and Jodi Montgomery. Rudolph said it had been over two and a half years since she last spoke to the singer, when she told him she was planning to take an indefinite break from work.

“I think it is in Britney’s best interests that I resign from her team as my professional services are no longer required,” adds Rudolph’s letter.
Representatives for Spears did not respond to a request for comment.

Montgomery was appointed temporary personal curator of Britney Spears in September 2019.
