Longtime DC radio host Peter Deibler, better known to listeners as Kane, died Friday after “a long illness,” his family’s lawyers said on Monday. He was 43 years old.

Deibler has hosted “The Kane Show” on HOT 99.5 for years and once contributed to NBC4. His program has aired in the Washington area and beyond.

“Although co-hosts came and went, Kane remained a constant and heartwarming voice for thousands on their way to work, dropping children off at school and running errands,” Deibler family lawyers said. in a press release.

Deibler was the father of two daughters, whom he often spoke about on the air.

The iHeartRadio radio network sent its condolences.
