Educational guitar maker Loog returned to Kickstarter this week, about eight years after its first appearance on the crowdfunding site. This fourth campaign of the company presents a trio of instruments to accelerate the learning process.
There are three models, each for a different age group: the Loog Mini (3 years old and up), the Loog Pro (8 years old and up) and the Loog Pro VI (12 years old and up). The latter is the first guitar of the company to wear the six standard strings (against the three that it usually offers).
All have an integrated speaker and amp, which reduces the need for additional accessories for the first child's instrument. They are also designed to work with the company's application, which now uses augmented reality (guitar, if you prefer), to superimpose instructions when using the front camera on a mobile device. They are also flash cards (for chords), videos and games on board.
The application also offers a songbook containing a wide variety of popular artists, ranging from Beatles to Taylor Swift. Children can slow down and mute tracks to play karaoke while recording.
Kickstarter prices start at $ 99 for the Mini, versus $ 150 at retail. The company continues to make good use of crowdfunding, but the model has worked rather well so far. Loog's has begun to gain ground in the world of music education and, as evidenced by his video on Kickstarter, has landed in the hands of a few rock stars.
