The magician Uri Geller took to social media to apologize for banning the Kadabra pocket monster from the official Pokémon trading card game many years ago and has now given Nintendo permission to use it again.
“I am so sorry for what I did 20 years ago. Children and adults, I lift the ban. Now it’s up to #Nintendo to bring back my #kadabra #pokemon card. It will probably be one of the rarest cards out there! Lots of energy and love to all! “
In 2000, Geller attempted to sue Nintendo for £ 60million ($ 100million), claiming the Pokémon Kadabra was an unauthorized parody of itself. He further noted how some markings on the pocket monster were comparable to Nazi SS symbols, which he was also not impressed with. Here is what he had to say at the time:

Kadabra’s Japanese name – Yungerer / Yungeller / Yun Geller – apparently refers to Geller. The English name is also associated with magic and obviously the pocket monster is known to bend spoons.
Speaking to TheGamer via email, Geller said he has now sent a letter to the president of Nintendo, authorizing the company to relaunch the “Uri Geller Kadabra / Yungeller” card worldwide.
