A 24-year-old murder suspect, mistakenly released from a Los Angeles County jail earlier this month, was captured again Monday amid a thorough search, authorities told Fox News.
Steven Manzo was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop in Cypress, Calif., In Orange County, said Justin Davis, chief inspector of the regional fugitives task force. American Marshals.

Manzo left the Century Regional Detention Center in the Los Angeles suburb of Lynwood on March 9 after spending a year in custody in connection with the murder of Salvador Corrales, 24, a father of two in Long Beach.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Manzo was never transferred for his scheduled arraignment, resulting in the charges against him having to be dismissed and immediately returned in order to delay proceedings. judicial.
Manzo was ordered to be held without bail and his new arraignment was scheduled for March 23, but he was released anyway. When the authorities learned of the mistake, they closed the highway and launched a manhunt in the city center.
The Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office have both dismissed responsibility for the incident.
