Louis Nix, former New York Giants player, missing

Louis Nix, a former Giants defensive lineman who survived a shootout in December, has been reported missing by his mother.

Nix left his father’s house in Jacksonville, Fla. Around 10 a.m. on Tuesday and did not return, according to a missing person poster shared on social media.

Nix’s mother told Action News Jacksonville that she believed her son was in danger because “It’s out of the ordinary for him.”

She said she “can’t call him because the voicemail is full and the people he talks to on a daily basis haven’t heard from him,” [which is] not like him.

Nix was shot dead in an attempted theft while putting air in the tires of his vehicle at a Jacksonville gas station in December.

“I’m alive everyone,” Nix wrote on Twitter Dec. 9. “The bullet that hit me ricocheted from my breastbone into my lung. Surgery is the next step, so keep praying for me. Thank you all for the positive energy and the prayers. “

Nix’s mother said she didn’t think this was related to the previous shooting and that since then Nix “didn’t like to go anywhere and watch his surroundings.”

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office had no further information on Nix’s status when contacted by The Post

Anyone with information on Nix’s whereabouts is urged to call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, according to the missing person’s poster.

The 29-year-old Notre Dame product was drafted by the Texans in 2014. It appeared in four games for the 2015 Giants after being claimed waivers, but was cut before the start of the 2016 season.
