Louisiana man charged with 100 counts of first-degree rape

A 71-year-old man from Louisiana has been charged with 100 counts of first-degree rape for alleged criminal sexual behavior involving minors.

The Sheriff's Office of the Rapids Parish informs the media that the first charges against Harvey Joseph Fountain date back to the 1970s.

The sheriff's office said MPs were informed on April 1 that Fountain was having sex with minors. MEPs say that an investigation has found evidence to support the allegations. Fountain was arrested on April 9, for 50 counts of first degree rape. A few days later, new victims were identified – the sheriff's office does not say how much – and the convicts still imprisoned The fountain was charged with 50 additional charges of first-degree rape.

MEPs say that the investigation is ongoing and that more arrests are possible. It is not known if Fountain has a lawyer.
