Arik Gilbert – a former five-star rookie as No.5 overall in 247Sports Composite, No.1 on the tight side and No.1 in Georgia for the 2020 class – took to Twitter and announced a transfer decision on Sunday evening. After officially entering the NCAA transfer portal on Jan.5, about a month after his withdrawal from the 2020 season at LSU, Gilbert said in a tweet that he enlisted in Florida.
“After careful consideration, I decided to get involved with the University of Florida. It’s the best situation for me and I’m delighted to join the family, ” Gilbert said, adding a “100” emoji at the end of the tweet.
