It was a scandal of galactic proportions.

In the latest episode of “The Mandalorian,” the character dubbed “Baby Yoda” caused a Death Star-level stir among fans when the little green sensation tried to eat the eggs of a new alien character, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Baby Yoda, real name The Child, is tasked with transporting a character and her eggs to a new planet before they die. However, several times during the episode, Baby Yoda is caught trying to steal or eat one of the eggs.

This running gag attempt drew the wrath of many fans who saw it as slandering Baby Yoda.

“I am a mom. It’s no fun at all to hear Mama Frog Lady go into great detail about the importance and love of her eggs to her and having to watch them get eaten three times for ss and laughs. A single mother cannot survive AND keep her children ” tweeted a viewer.

“For the record, the Frog Lady was very adamant that her eggs were important to her, and that this was her last and only chance to have children, so it’s actually closer to f-inger somebody. [in vitro fertilization] which would be incredibly upsetting for an aspiring mom. it’s not funny ”, another user tweeted.

Others, however, angered some of the fans.

“If you’re a person living in this world today, and that’s the kind of thing that bothers you, consider joining one of these one-way missions to Mars,” wrote one of them.

Another added that it was a “television show.” NOT TRUE. I now hope he grows up and becomes a human baby eating monster that the galaxy can’t stop just for fun because it’s only TV and NOT REAL!

In response to the backlash, Phil Szostak, artistic director of Lucasfilm tweeted that eggs were no different from the “chicken eggs that many of us enjoy”.

For the record, chapter 10 of #TheMandalorian makes it clear that the frog’s eggs are not fertilized, like the chicken eggs that many of us enjoy, ”he wrote.

“But of course, chickens are not sentient beings and the child who eats the eggs is intentionally disturbing, to a funny effect.”
