Lucie noted that the audience was “ enthusiastically commenting on the cast pick which wasn’t exactly announced, but sort of leaked the other day through the press. And you know, it’s a done deal but the contracts aren’t actually signed, which is why I haven’t said anything publicly about it.

She laughed and added: ‘But I felt like I had to at least try to calm the waters here. There seems to be a lot of talk about Nicole Kidman. “” It should be Debra Messing! “” It should be Carole Cook! ” I do not know.

Debra relentlessly took to the role on Twitter last week amid reports Nicole was in talks to lead the cast in the photo.

She retweeted several of her fans who said she would be a better choice, citing her tribute to I Love Lucy in the final season of Will And Grace.

During this tribute, Debra disguised herself as character from Lucille’s sitcom, Lucy Ricardo, to recreate some of her tracks, including her commercial for Vitameatavegamin and her frantic attempts to work the assembly line at a chocolate factory.

However, Lucie noted: ‘Here’s the deal – what you need to figure out. We’re not doing a remake of I Love Lucy. Nobody has to pretend to be Lucy Ricardo, or the Vitameatavegamin routine or the chocolate factory routine or any of the stupid things.

She said: ‘This is the story of Lucille Ball, my real mother, not Lucy Ricardo, and her husband Desi Arnaz, my father, not Ricky Ricardo. There will be some humor in the movie, but it’s a story of the two of them, how they met, and what went well in finding the show, what went wrong – their relationship, their love story.

Lucie added, “ Now of course I love Lucy. In fact, Aaron Sorkin put him on the scene of a shoot, a week of rehearsal – rehearsal and filming the show – but all of these other things are happening during that time. Very little of the series is actually of the I Love Lucy genre.

She continued, “ I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this, however. Aaron did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life, and that’s just a hint. It’s a small slice of life on their journey.

The legacy of showbiz noted, “ That’s not the whole story. This is not a cradle-to-grave biopic. It’s a two hour feature film about these two people and some of the remarkable things they went through.

She concluded her post by encouraging fans to ‘Just trust us. It’s going to be a great movie. And PS, the vote is over. I love you all.’

Aaron Sorkin is writing and directing the upcoming Being The Ricardos biopic for Amazon following his streaming success with The Trial Of The Chicago 7 for Netflix.

While Nicole would be Lucy’s choice, Javier Bardem is in talks for the role of her husband and co-star Desi Arnaz, Deadline reported last week.

Desi, who played Lucy’s conductor husband Ricky Ricardo in their show, had a tumultuous marriage to her in real life.

She first filed for divorce in 1944, reportedly for abusing him and drinking, but they got back together before finally breaking up in 1960.

In the meantime, they produced two children and the sitcom that made them legendary in television, from 1951 to 1957.

They also starred in films together throughout their marriage, including Forever, Darling, and Vincente Minnelli’s comedy The Long, Long Trailer.

Despite their divorce, in which she called their marriage a “ nightmare, ” Lucy and Desi remained publicly friendly for the rest of her life.

Lucy married comedian Gary Morton of Borscht Belt in 1961 and remained with him until his death in 1989, while Desi married an Edith Hirsch in 1963.

Edith and Desi both died of cancer within a year of each other – she died in 1985 and her husband, who loved cigars from his native Cuba, died of lung cancer in 1986.

Aaron Sorkin’s new biopic is about a week spent doing an episode of I Love Lucy in which Lucy’s and Desi’s marriage is rocked.

The hectic week, from the reading table to recording in front of the studio audience, would also include a professional earthmove for the couple.
