UPDATE: After posting and removing the Lucifer Season 5B release date from its page on the site, Netflix officially announced that the popular show would return on May 28. You can read the original story in full below.

It looks like we might finally get a feel for when the next batch of new Lucifer the episodes are coming to Netflix. Fans were waiting for the second half of LuciferThe penultimate season for quite some time, with the first half of Season 5 starting in August of last year. So far, there has been no indication of a Season 5B release date, but Netflix seems to have accidentally revealed the upcoming premiere date on the site.

Early Monday morning, the Lucifer The page on Netflix has been updated to include the Season 5B premiere date. The post on the page said new episodes would arrive on May 28 (per What’s new on Netflix). However, shortly after the page was updated, the post was deleted by Netflix. The premiere date is no longer included on the site.

It was certainly a mistake on the Netflix side, but what we don’t know is which part was the real mistake. Was the date itself incorrect? Or was the error just sharing it online too early. The latter seems more likely.

Season 5B was meant to be the conclusion of Lucifer on Netflix, but the creative team and the streaming service ended up accepting the sixth and final season. Even though the end isn’t quite near, the next batch of episodes still promises to be a bit of a wild ride.

Lucifer DB star Woodside called the new installment “chaos”, especially after Dennis Haysbert’s arrival from God.

“When God (Dennis Haysbert) comes, a lot of chaos will follow,” Woodside revealed to TV line. “We literally pick up two seconds from where we left off, and Amenadiel is absolutely humbled that God saw him behave the way he was with his brothers because as the elder he is really meant to be the one to give the ‘example – and it was not to do that!

Look forward to season 5B of Lucifer? Let us know in the comments!

The first four and a half seasons of Luficer are currently available to stream on Netflix.
