Congratulation to Lucy Hale!
the pretty Little Liars alum has landed the lead role in the CW Riverdale musical fallout, Katy Keene, several outlets report. The spin-off, which follows the life of four iconic Archie Comics characters in their twenties as they pursue their dreams in New York, received a pilot order in January. Hale's character, Katy, is an aspiring fashion designer trying to make her way through the Big Apple while trying to keep her friendships and love life.
This 29-year-old actress confirmed Monday on social media on Monday: "I'm panicking a bit! Thanks @archiecomics / @writerras / @thecw / @warnerbrostv / @thatthingofwhen for trusting me.KATY KEENE, my heart beats the pounding.
Hale returns to the cast after his stint in the network series Perpetuity. From 2010 to 2017, Hale starred Aria Montgomery in the hit series pretty Little Liars.
Katy Keene was created by Riverdaleof Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi.
