At least three of the 27 people who tested positive for COVID-19 after attending Luke Bryan’s concert last month have been fully vaccinated, according to the county health department.
The health department is still investigating the possible outbreak, said Courtney Rynkiewicz, public information officer for the Livingston County Department of Health.
“We discovered all of the cases after they were tested and were reported to us with positive test results,” she said. “Through a contact tracing and investigation team, we were able to find out that they had all attended the Luke Bryan concert.”
The health department believes all 27 spectators contracted the virus during the event.
About 20,000 ticket holders attended the Fowlerville stop of the 2021 Bryan’s Farm Tour. It was by far the largest event of its kind in Livingston County.
Although the event took place outside, social distancing and mask wearing were not required.
Rynkiewicz said individuals “should weigh their own personal risks” when deciding to attend big events such as the concert.
To date, none of those who have tested positive have had to be hospitalized, she said.
Those who attended the event are encouraged to get tested for COVID-19 even if they are vaccinated.
“Most people from day 7-10 would be positive if they got it from the gig, so we suggested everyone watch each other for two weeks after the gig that would end and including October 2nd,” he said. said Rynkiewicz.
As of Monday, 17,464 residents of Livingston County tested positive for COVID-19; 560 have been hospitalized and 211 have died since March 2020, according to data from the Ministry of Health
