Luke Bryan showed off a horrific injury that occurred on Tuesday while fishing with a friend.

The 44-year-old country singer-songwriter shared a gruesome video to Instagram on Monday that showed a fishing lure pierced through his thumb in two separate places.

“Well… that’s going to leave a mark,” Bryan said in a video as he stood inches from the water, showing his thumb closely with some blood on it. “I’m sure it’s in my bones.”

In subsequent posts shared to his Instagram story, the “American Idol” judge explained that he was on a fishing trip with his guitar technician, Russ, at the time of the injury.

Another video shows him in the waiting room of a medical establishment. “We’re somehow raping HIPPA,” he says before letting out a little laughter.

Everything seemed to be going well, however, as an hour later he posted a video of the water with Russ by his side. “You’ve got the hook! We’re back!” he updated the fans, giving them a boost.
