Detroit Red Wings' center Dylan Larkin added another winning goal to his resume for the 2019 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia.

Midway through the third period of Sunday's prelims against Germany, Larkin cleared the net and connected on a long-term pass from James van Riemsdyk, putting the puck to tied on Mathias Niederberger standing since the first period.

The United States won 3-1 to earn a place in the quarter-finals on Thursday.

The United States, coached by Jeff Blashill and featuring Red Wings forward Luke Glendening and assistant coach Dan Bylsma, will play Canada on Tuesday, the final day of the prelims.

Anthony Mantha, Red Wings forward has an excellent performance at his first World Championship, where he leads the Canadiens with seven goals and four assists in five games. Canada ends its preliminary round on Monday with a game against Denmark.

Larkin scored three goals and two assists in six games. His first goal of the tournament, which runs until May 26, gave the United States a 3-2 overtime win over mighty Finland. His third gave the Americans their fifth consecutive victory.
