The 2021 NFL Draft Class is teeming with quarterback talent, ranging from a variety of systems, playstyles, and abilities.

For some time now, it has been unanimously agreed that former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be the first overall pick, this year owned by Jacksonville.

Other names such as Zach Wilson of BYU, Trey Lance of NDSU, Justin Fields of Ohio state and Mac Jones of Alabama are expected to be called in the first round, after Lawrence.

The ranking of quarterbacks after Lawrence is an often debated topic. Some say Fields will be the second quarterback off the field, while others believe Wilson is the real “QB2”.

Former NFL coach for the Chargers and Falcons June Jones has a unique vision. He’s not trying to discuss who’s second best in the draft class.

He believes the best quarterback available in the 2021 NFL Draft is former Crimson Tide Heisman finalist Mac Jones.

“Mac’s deep ball accuracy is probably the best I’ve seen in my years as a quarterback coach,” said June Jones. “He’s almost 55 percent over 20 yards, which is incredible.”

Jones also received praise for his ability to read his options.

“(Mac Jones) is a receiver watcher,” June Jones said. “I could tell by watching it on TV when they had the right camera angle. And I really think that’s huge for him. This is how he naturally throws the ball deep.

Jones is currently expected to be a mid-round to late pick in the first round.

Roll Tide Wire will post any updates on Mac Jones’ standings status ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.
