Veteran of the Cubs Ben Zobrist is currently on indefinite leave with the Cubs since last Wednesday.
The news was announced today that Ben and Julianne Zobrist have filed divorce documents in separate courts to end their marriage, which had lasted since 2005.
Ben on Wednesday demanded a divorce in Williamson County, Tennessee, claiming that she "had been guilty of inappropriate marital behavior, making any cohabitation impossible."
Cubs manager Joe Maddon was asked about the divorce news before Wednesday's game against the Reds.
"I feel for him. Having myself followed this process, it's not fun, " Maddon told reporters. "So that he can do it under these circumstances, we will respect his privacy, no delay is involved, he will let us know."
