Just yesterday, a potential successor to Nest Cam Indoor went through the FCC. A "wireless device" from Google with only Bluetooth connectivity must now be certified by the regulator.
For starters, the G022A is classified as a "wireless device" in documents filed with the FCC. In recent history, the only other Google product to have this description is Google Clips.
Formatting the model number – G0xxx – implies that it is a device of the Made by Google family and not a device intended for internal use only and not for a consumer product. In terms of lineage, it falls chronologically after pixels 3a (G020A), Google Clips (G015A) and Pixel 3 (G013A).
The label bearing the model number and the FCC ID is displayed electronically in the form of an electronic tag. This device does not appear to have its own screen, with the necessary regulatory information accessible from a "companion application settings menu: System> About> Regulation". As such, it is very likely that it is an accessory and a smartphone.
Instructions for accessing information can be found in the Security / Warranty / Regulatory Booklet and Online version:
"You will find regulatory information, certifications and marks of conformity in the settings menu of the complementary application: System> About> Regulation"
In terms of specifications, we know very little at this point, except that Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity is available. Possible devices that fit this description include Bluetooth headphones or even a basic fitness tracker. All other gadgets, like a smartwatch, would include Wi-Fi. Privacy on the user manual, as well as internal, external and test configuration photos, is set to expire in November.
Google filed this privacy claim on April 25, while the RF report was released on May 10 and the radio test on May 14, suggesting a quick schedule.
