KENT COUNTY, Mich. – The nobility has never been the intention of the wedding wedding decor of Audra and Jeff Johnson.
The couple is married on July 4th in Kalamazoo, surrounded by friends and family members dressed in "Make America Great Again" hats.
"It seemed like America had been throwing up on my wedding and I'm not sorry," said Audra Johnson's bride at WXMI.
Johnson says that in addition to celebrating their love, she and her husband decided to use their wedding day as an opportunity to celebrate President Donald Trump. No detail has been overlooked, up to the 'do not walk on me' cufflinks from the maids. Each reception table included a petition for an anti-abortion "heartbeat bill".
Even the nails of the bride have been painted to look like American flags.
"The dress is actually an original of Andre Soriano," said Johnson. It is actually made up of a MAGA flag. "As this is the focal point of every wedding, the bride's dress has stolen the show.
Soriano is known for his custom "Trump dresses". Her creations have been featured on the 2017 Grammys red carpet.
Despite the theme, Johnson said everyone was welcome. This includes her forever friend and maid of honor, who is also a democrat.
"We were going to do our photos with the Trump hats and she said," You know I love you, but I can not wear the Trump hat, "said Johnson," I said, "Everything is fine. It's good. Just wear a red hat. We still love you. We can have completely different opinions about everything and love each other again. "
Not everyone in the couple's life was also accepting. The father of the groom refused to attend.
"He sent us an SMS," said Johnson. She said, "As long as you support this racist in the White House, I will not participate in your marriage. "Which is sad, but many people have loved us and come."
Johnson said that if she were invited to a wedding on the theme of President Barack Obama, she would be happy to attend.
