While the first Magic Leap augmented reality helmet launch has not been a spectacular drop, the group is about to see a large corporate partnership pushing its device in front of more consumers. Next week, the $ 2,295 headset will go on sale at AT & T 's flagship stores in Boston, San Francisco and Chicago.

Having more channels of distribution than direct orders to consumers on the Web is obviously good for Magic Leap and distills some very innovative forward-looking marketing principles for AT & T, but as Magic Leap One seems to be coming out of the development phase of its life cycle, which relatively normal person will really be interested in buying this thing?

I think it is fair to say that there is no good reason to own one as a consumer, other than exploring a new and interesting technology.

The Oculus and Valve RV platforms have built much more robust storefronts, but it's a big challenge for Magic Leap. The company has presented many brief demonstrations, but the game content for the device is not huge and Magic Leap does not seem to have achieved new mainstream hits. During AT & T's in-store demos, Magic Leap will present a Game of Thrones experience she built with HBO.

The business market is perhaps the most realistic sale, and it would seem that most customers know if they want something like that, have the opportunity to take it for a whirlwind although with GoT content, could be the extra boost they need.
