Hasbro's Allspark Animation occupies development
Well, it's a pretty interesting development that happens randomly on a Monday.
Confirmed to Destructoid, Netflix announced, in collaboration with Hasbro (owner of Wizards of the Coast) and their studio Allspark Animation, that they would team up with Joe and Anthony Russo (from Arrested development and Marvel celebrity) to create an animation Magic: the rally series "for the first time in the history of the franchise of 25 years."
It will feature a "brand new scenario", which will focus on the Planeswalkers; powerful beings in the Magic universe capable of crossing the worlds and being one of the most impactful cards in the game. Yoriaki Mochizuki (who worked on the LEGO movies and In the spider worm) directs and Henry Gilroy will take charge of the script (Star Wars: The clone war) and Jose Molina (The tick, Agent Carter). The Russos will be executive producers and the series would cover the genres of "thriller, horror and drama". Chandra Nalaar is one of the most famous characters in the franchise, using the promotional screen teaser. He is one of the most iconic characters in the franchise.
Magic has just completed a multi-year story in his card game arm, which now extends to Magic: Arena, a replication of nearly 1: 1 of the table experience.
