Maine CDC reports seven more deaths from COVID-19, total number of cases exceeding 25,000

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) – Seven more Mainers have died from coronavirus, as the Maine CDC reports 343 more cases.

The total number of deaths in Maine drops to 358.

The additional deaths reported on Saturday are:

  • Cumberland County Woman in Her 80s
  • A man in his sixties from Cumberland County
  • A man in his 60s from Cumberland County
  • Cumberland County Woman in Her 80s
  • A man in his sixties from Cumberland County
  • A woman in her sixties from Cumberland County
  • A woman in her 90s from York County

The total number of cases stands at 25,245 and 21,412 are confirmed.

A spokesperson for the Maine CDC said that due to computer issues on Friday, case counts for each county were not available.

The new case totals for Saturday represent a change over the past two days.

According to the Maine CDC, the recovery numbers are not up to date, so we are no longer able to accurately report active cases. Instead, we provide you with a new case count for each county.

As of Saturday, 32,090 people had been vaccinated.

The Department of Health and Human Services said the state also placed its fifth order on Thursday for more doses.

The order will allow another 17,075 Mainers to be vaccinated against the virus.
