Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams had a different end in mind for her beloved character Arya Stark – at least in the beginning.
Williams, 22, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what she would like to see happen with her 10-year-old character, revealing that she originally wanted Arya to kill her nemesis, Cersei Lannister.
"I just wanted to be back on the set with Lena, she's having a good time," Williams said of Lena Headey, who played Cersei in the hit HBO series.

"And I wanted Arya to kill Cersei even if it means [Arya] dies too. Even at the point where Cersei and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) thought [while reading the script]"He's going to take off his hair [and reveal its Arya]'And they will both die. I thought that was Arya's driving force, "she continued.
But, Williams said, this is Arya's last conversation with The Hound (Rory McCann) that made him realize that his character had more to live on than revenge.

"But I suppose I sleep with Gendry (Joe Dempsie) and Jon (Kit Harington) sees again that she realizes that she's not fighting for herself anymore but also for her family – this is causing all those human emotions that Arya has not felt for a long time, "explained the actress.
She continued, "When The Hound asks her if she has another option, suddenly there are so many things in [Arya’s] the life for which she can live, which she can do. It was a shock to me because it was not the way I had envisioned her to evolve this year. Then I realized that there were other things I could play, bringing Arya back to 16 years old. "
Williams also said that Arya's end was not an infamous end, but a happy ending.
"It's a place for me to take Arya that I never thought I'd go there again," she said.
Headey also acknowledged that she would have liked to have more scenes with Williams in the last season – but she said, "you have to accept the fact that it was not supposed to be." "I lived this fantasy until I read the script. There were thick scenes and it was nothing that I had dreamed about. It was a little disappointing and you have to accept that it was not, "she told Entertainment Weekly. "There is something poetic in the way everything happens in the end with her and Jaime."
As for Williams, the star added that she was "nervous" for what would follow after her stint of "Thrones" for a decade – a sentiment that echoed the comments she had made in March before the broadcast of the eighth and final season.
"I'm nervous for what will follow and I just want to prove myself as an actor and make the most of this series," she said. "There are not as many opportunities to do everything with one character and this season I have a whole spectrum to do. So no matter what happens after, I made that count. "
