Make phone call on Android Auto with Google Assistant suddenly crashed

[ad_1]

Being an Android Auto user isn’t for everyone, as only the bravest can handle all the bugs this super-useful app throws at them.

And one of the more recent issues is with phone calls made with voice commands through Google Assistant, as everything seems to be down for no clear reason.

Specifically, while phone calls over Bluetooth and with manual entry work very well, the same cannot be said of those initiated with Google Assistant when Android Auto is running onscreen.

A typical command like “Hey, Google, call Bob“Google Assistant often returns an error like”to use the car microphone, end other calls.“Of course, there are no other active calls, and users are just stuck with this error when they try to make a voice with a voice command.

The microphone is obviously in working order since Google Assistant is actually responding to audio input, so at this point it’s not clear exactly what users experiencing this issue can do.

In the meantime, Google has already acknowledged the problem and said it is investigating, although clearly there is no ETA to see when a potential fix might land for users struggling with all of this.

We are currently investigating this problem. It would be great if you could send us a bug report from your phone to diagnose the root cause of the problem. We will send an email with instructions on how to capture a bug report. Please respond directly to the email with your information,A member of the Android Auto team said, explaining that they need more feedback to understand what’s going on.

A new Android Auto update is expected in the next few days, but of course, since this issue is still under investigation, you better not hold your breath for a fix this time around.
