AEW wrestler Malakai Black (formerly known as Aleister Black in WWE) made his af metal debut last night (August 4). On the last episode of AEW Dynamite, Black entered black metal band “Ogentroost” from black metal band Amenra while wearing a skull mask with antlers.

Black signed with AEW almost immediately after being kicked out of WWE earlier this year. The news sent wrestling fans into a frenzy as they envisioned Black’s possibilities with greater creative freedom. The self-proclaimed “black metal of professional wrestling” was able to experience his latest creation last night, entering Amenra in a cloak of fog and darkness.

The wrestler emerged from the AEW tunnel into a completely blackened arena. Cryptic black and white images filled the tron as the wrestler slowly made his way to the ring, removing his skull mask with horns as he sat in the center of the canvas.

While getting a tattoo from the dark surreal legend Paul Booth, Black explained the inspiration behind his former WWE character. “When Lucifer was cast out of heaven, did he swear revenge on God’s creation? Did he swear revenge on his father? Did he create hell and all of its demons? Did he swear to destroy and tempt man into destruction and the eternal fires of hell? I think he did, but I think the first thing he did was cry, because he was just a son trying to get his father’s love ”, Black said.

“I found it to be such an interesting take on such a tragic character, because Aleister Black, to a certain extent, is the devil. I feel like that moment when he went from utter sadness to utter anger – that tiny fraction of a second is exactly where I based Aleister Black.
