KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested 10 men, including an auxiliary policeman, in connection with the seizure of 156 kg of narcotic drugs estimated at RM 7.8 million.

Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh, CID director of Bukit Aman Narcotics found 156 kg of drugs suspected to be syabu hidden in a Toyota Hilux four-wheel drive vehicle in a supermarket parking lot.

The drugs were obtained from a neighboring country and were destined for local and foreign markets, he said at a press conference at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters yesterday

All suspects are remanded for a week until July 28 to facilitate investigations under Dangerous Dru Article 39 (B) Meanwhile, Mohmad said the police had seized various drugs worth 111.83 million RM through its operations throughout the country from January to Thursday with 89 860 people, including 5 167 foreigners arrested during the same period.

The confiscated drugs included 1,403 kg of syabu, 19,27 kg of ketamine, 163,300 tablets of erimin 5, 73,533 pills of yaba, 349,800 pills of ecstasy, 1,315 kg of ganja and 509 kg of heroin. – Bernama
