Gaby Lewis made a teenage ransacking at Sydney Parade yesterday, Flamingo half a century from 31 bullets then that Ireland was shooting a record chase to beat Bangladesh by six wickets from the last delivery of a fiercely contested T20 series.

After Bangladesh made a total of 151-4 as a result of its 20 overtaking, Ireland had to make its best total on the shortest distance in second place and seemed to be out of contention on 51-2 midway

. 17-year-old Lewis Delany and her captain Laura Delany opened their shoulders dramatically to get their third team of wickets from 93 to 57, bringing six and 12 to four, while the required rate was reduced to around eight.

Lewis was beaten by a bypass while she doubled over 50 and Delany was exhausted for 46 in the finished finals, but with seven needed three balls, Isobel Joyce picked up a two, and then swept a thin-leg border before scampering the winning single.

"I'm ecstatic, we deserved to win," Delany said. "We did better every game, Gaby Lewis was outstanding and Isobel Joyce held up well in the end."

While Bangladesh won the 2-1 series, all three games have ended and the Girls in Green will gain momentum in this week's World T20 qualifiers.
