ASRock reveals details of AMD's Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E processors

ASRock added the Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E 45W processors to the media list document for its AMD motherboards based on the A320, B350, X370 and X470 chipsets.

Motherboard builders still publish the official list support for each motherboard so that potential consumers can check if the motherboard that they plan to buy will work well with a certain processor. This is also a great place to get the scoop on the future AMD and Intel processors that have not yet come into existence. On this occasion, the Taiwanese manufacturer ASRock has updated the list of processors on its AM4 motherboards to include the second-generation Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E processors.

The forthcoming Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E processors are full members of AMD's (HEDT) "Pinnacle Ridge" high-end desktop family, based on the well-known Zen + microarchitecture. chip manufacturer. As such, both models are also manufactured under the GlobalFoundries 12nm manufacturing process and are ideally suited for AM4 socket motherboards with the correct BIOS version, of course.

The Ryzen 7 2700E is the energy-efficient version of the current AMD flagship processor Ryzen 7 2700X. The processor comes with eight cores and 16 threads with 16 MB of L3 cache and 4 MB of L2 cache. Compared to its 105W brothers operating at a base frequency of 3.7 GHz, the Ryzen 7 2700E has a modest base clock of 2.8 GHz, which allows it to carry a TDP of 45W. Unfortunately, ASRock is not used to listing boost clocks for supported processors on the list.

As the model number indicates, the Ryzen 5 2600E is the low-power variant of the Ryzen 5 2600X. It has six cores, 12 threads, 16 MB of L3 cache and 3 MB of L2 cache. The processor is clocked at a base frequency of 3.1 GHz, which is only 500 MHz slower than its "x" portion. The Ryzen 5 2600E is also a 45W processor.

With many European hardware stores already pre-ordering on B450 motherboards that will soon be on the market, the launch of the AMD B450 chipset is imminent. We expect the Ryzen 7 2700E and Ryzen 5 2600E processors to accompany this launch.
