Acid attack substance of police identity, looking for two suspects

KUALA LUMPUR : The corrosive fluid used in an attack against a corporate surveillance officer from Bursa Malaysia in front of the Menara Olympic on Jalan Raja Chulan Tuesday is believed to be an acid agent commonly used to clean toilet.

Kuala Lumpur Chief Police Commissioner, Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim, said yesterday that the victim had sustained 30% of burns to parts of the face and body as a result of the attack at 6:35 pm

.

He said that the reason for the incident was the subject of an investigation and that the case was classified as causing serious injury.

We learn that the man who is detained in a private hospital has undergone surgery yesterday for his injuries and would be in a stable condition.

The attack is believed to be related to his work and the man has filed in the last 10 months two reports alleging that he was intimidated

Witnesses told the police that two men on a Yamaha Y12 motorcycle had intercepted the 47-year-old victim who was driving at that time and broke a window in his car before splashing the corrosive liquid.

On a separate case, Mazlan said Monday that police managed to trace the home of a murder victim whose mutilated body was found in two travel bags on the bank of Sungai Gombak near Putra World Trade Center on July 5th.

He said that the details of the victim had been obtained at the crime scene.
