What could lead to closer ties in the short term are management measures that came into effect in May. As part of the reshuffle, the biggest in the history of Facebook, Chris Cox, his product manager, has taken on Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, in addition to the main application. Adam Mosseri, the former head of Facebook's news feed, has been named vice president of products at Instagram, reporting to Kevin Systrom, co-founder and CEO of Instagram. Mosseri has been working for the company for 10 years and has deep relationships with Cox and Managing Director Mark Zuckerberg.
