Pakistani boxer Muhammad Waseem lost the fight for the IBF World Flyweight World Title against South African opponent Moruti Mthalane on Sunday morning

Waseem, the former two-time world flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), suffered a loss after eight straight wins.
35-year-old Mthalane, who has been on the professional circuit since 2000, has faced two-game defeats in his 18-year career. The South African had landed the IBF world flyweight crown by defeating Mexican boxer Julio César Miranda in November 2009.
In a video message posted earlier, Waseem had shared his willingness to take up the challenge and asked his fans to pray for his success. The born Quetta boxer became the first Pakistani to win the WBA World Money Belt by defeating Jether Oliva of the Philippines on July 17, 2016. He was then crowned the best boxer according to the rankings published by the WBC for the month of June 2017.
Waseem is the first boxer in Pakistan to be ranked number one in the flyweight category.
He has several other honors to his name, including bronze medals at the 2014 Asian Games and the 2010 Commonwealth Games, as well as a silver medal at Glasgow at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. .
