PORT DICKSON: A committee will be set up today to investigate the death of a participant in the Port Dickson International Triathlon.

Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, Minister of Youth and Sports, said that the Secretary General of the Ministry, Lokman Hakim Ali.

"The committee will consider, inter alia, whether there has been a violation of conditions or laws," he said here.

He expressed his condolences to the Thram family Wei Wong, 39, who drowned while he was competing in the 750 meter swimming event at the International Triathlon.

Earlier, Syed Saddiq met with Thram's family members at the Forensic Unit of Port Dickson Hospital. The director of the rescue department, Norazam Khamis, said that a 42-year-old foreign participant had also been missing in the same swimming event

"We received a report from the organizer to 11:55 indicating that another participant Pant failed to report to the secretariat and, after receiving the report, we activated a search and rescue mission

"The victim was identified as Yuen Chi Yuen from Hong Kong, "he declared
