KUALA LUMPUR: Balakong MP, Ng Tien Chee, was killed in an accident at KM11.7 of the Grand Saga Highway early today.

ACP Kajang police chief Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof, who confirmed this, said that Ng was on his way to Kuala Lumpur to Kajang. It was believed that the Nissan X-Trail Ng SUV was driving to the back of a trailer.
Ahmad Dzaffir stated that Ng's body had been sent to Serdang Hospital for an autopsy
. Ng, a DAP member contesting a PKR ticket, defeated Lim Chin Wah of Barisan Nasional and Mohamad Ibrahim Ghazali by a majority of 35,538 votes.
His death will force the second by-election after GE14. The first is scheduled to take place on August 4 for Sungai Kandis State constituency following the death of its 50-year-old MP Mat Shuhaimi Shafie of PKR on July 2 because of a lymphoma.
