Mercedes-Benz focuses on aerodynamics for the all-new A-class sedan

Although it seems that sedans are a way of life in Europe, in other parts of the world, the sedan still looks like the preferred body style. With this, Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the four-door version of their class A. Simply nicknamed the Class A sedan (or sedan, depending on where it is sold), it's the first time that this line wins a vault since ACC is considered an entirely different model despite the sharing of its platform.

Mercedes-Benz isn I do not put all the cards on the table yet. Only the front of the car is visible and the rear has yet to be shown. They have not yet published the official data sheet, although they make noise about its aerodynamics.

According to the automaker, the A-Class Sedan has a drag coefficient (or Cd) of only 0.22, which is better than 0.25 Cd of the sedan. Mercedes-Benz adds that its slippery shape helps to make the sedan more fuel efficient because it will have less difficulty in cutting in the air. In addition, Mercedes-Benz claims a world record for the most aerodynamic production car.

As for the car itself, it shares the same fairing before its headlights and its hexagonal grille, right down to the corner air intakes. designed to channel the air around the sedan. Although it has the same wheelbase as the A-class sedan, the sedan is equipped with unique rear doors and its roofline is slightly more upright than its more elegant (but less aerodynamic) five-door counterpart. As mentioned, there are no pictures from the back of the car yet.

Engines on the one hand can be shared with this hatch. This means a range of turbocharged four-cylinder crushers that are gas or diesel powered. Engine sizes vary from 1.4 liters to 2.0 liters for gasoline models. There is only one diesel option available and it's a 1.5 liter unit.
