KUALA LUMPUR (July 25): MIC's Central Labor Committee (CTC) unanimously decided today that central and central party elections would be held concurrently in October.
Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran taken on the basis of party policy not to burden its members who were to be present to vote.
"If held separately, about 24,000 delegates will have to vote twice, so this decision will not overwhelm them," said at a press conference after chairing the CWC meeting for the first time once as party chairman at MIC headquarters today.

Previously only 1,500 delegates comprising the chief, the chief deputy, secretary, deputy secretary, treasurer, chief of information and party leaders could vote for MIC's senior management. "MIC hopes to work hard in accordance with the struggles of the time and undertakes to strengthen the party's management remains relevant within the Indian community, "he added.
