VLC media player opposes Huawei and blacklisted some of its latest phones by installing the application from the Google Play Store.

In making the announcement via a tweet, the VLC team claims that Huawei's aggressive battery management kills all the background apps (except theirs) affects the background audio playback feature of VLC.

The VLC tweet provides a link to its forum where many of its users complain that the app is not working properly on the latest Huawei phones. 19659002] The Verge writes that VLC is unhappy that users dissatisfied Huawei leave too much criticism of a star for the application, without realizing that the problem is the smartphone and not the application.

He also writes that, although it is possible to manually disable the battery optimization feature (which would let the application work as expected), few people know how to do that and blame the application.

It is also reported that VLC specifically blocks Huawei P9, P10 and P20 and that none of the Honor phones are affected. VLC has also tweeted that those who are still interested in using the player can download the APK on his website.
