Pakistan vs Australia 2nd Test: Australia 47-1, Pakistan has two days to win the series

Babar Azam has just missed an early-century test, but Pakistan has given itself over two days to win the short test run against Australia and got off to a good start on Thursday.

Azam fell to a record of 99 in career and captain Sarfraz Ahmed added 81 before declaring his second run at 400-9 for a lead of 537 points.

Pakistan has delayed the declaration, aware that Australia escaped defeat at the first test in Dubai last week. Pakistan also reported and offered just under five sessions to get out of Australia. But Australia, with an unlikely win of 462, holds with two wickets to spare.

This time, Pakistan has imposed a monstrous victory in Australia in 538 victories in more than six sessions and has already undermined this idea by eliminating Shaun Marsh for four with an incredible performance by the beginner Mir Hamza.

Shafiq was the only wicket to fall in the intermediate session, caught to the point for 44.

Then Azam and Ahmed dominated, scoring 133 points for the sixth wicket. Australia could not break its partnership even with the second new ball.

Azam was on 99 when he dropped against fashion designer Mitchell Marsh while he was trying to cross the line. Azam's disappointment was obvious. His 161-ball shot consisted of six ovens and three six.

Nathan Lyon, the playmaker, cluttered by a large part of the workload, then seized two wickets in one, those of Bilal Asif (15) and Yasir Shah (4).

Legspinner Marnus Labuschagne had Ahmed when the captain missed a sweep and found himself trapped. Ahmed faced 123 balls and hit five and four.

Lyon finished with 4-135 on 43 outs and eight wickets in the match.

GOOD DEALS

Marsh was forced to open the heats after the first regular match, Usman Khawaja, injured his left knee during a warm-up session before the third day. He did not spend the whole day on the ground and had to place the order.

Marsh had trouble in the series, which ended for him with scores of 7, 0, 3 and 4. The southpaw could not cope with the Pakistani seamstresses and gave Hamza his first Test window after to have lost his stump.
