Jarrod Evans, a newcomer from Wales, launched a cheeky joke about the image of his regional team mate, Gareth Anscombe, when he first arrived at camp for the first time last week.
Evans was officially named in the group as a cover for Rhys Patchell, who recovers from a concussion.
As is customary in sports circles, beginners must "introduce themselves" to the team. The ritual that usually involves standing on a chair, talking about oneself and potentially singing a song or making a joke.
Head Coach Warren Gatland takes the story.
"I was not there, but the new boys introduced themselves to the team as they did last week and normally it's pretty fun," said the Kiwi.
"Jarrod has risen and mentioned that it's time for him to be here, considering that he's been playing Gareth Anscombe for two years!"
"It's great to hear that kind of stuff. The guys are cluttering and laughing a little too.
Evans was referring to the fact that he had the lion's share of the No. 10 jersey at Cardiff Blues in recent seasons, with Anscombe largely having to settle for the back.
Before the fall, Rob Howley, the attack coach from Wales, had admitted that the best Blues XV player was 27 years old in the No. 15 jersey, despite his desire to play in half-volley.
But the roles are reversed for the game against Scotland this weekend and Anscombe, more experienced, is starting to pivot, while Evans is ready to make his bow international bench.
"Potentially, he (Jarrod) has an opportunity, there is no doubt that his form for last year has been pretty good, there is real competition in this position, especially among the Blues.
"We have been very pleased with Gareth over the past 12 months for his leadership, his maturity, his way of being in the team and, hopefully, he is taking advantage of it to make the most of it. Jarrod also has an opportunity. "
