KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations into complaints made by members during the party polls will be done, assured PKR incoming president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said all the reports and complaints made by opposing camps would be discussed during the party’s political bureau meeting.
“There are a lot…(complaints)… we will investigate all.
“We are transparent and most importantly the process must go on and can no longer be delayed,” he told reporters in parliament lobby yesterday.
It was reported earlier that PKR central election committee (JPP) announced that there would be no re-election at the Julau division’s election in Sarawak, adding that the Pensiangan and Tawau division re-election results will only be revealed once checks are completed.
Anwar admitted that there was a lot of uneasiness among members including claims of lack of transparency and doubtful votes during the party polls.
“We have to follow the due process and the party must move forward. Whoever wins or loses, it is part and parcel of democracy.
“Those who are unhappy, there are process that can be considered and all the complaints will be investigated.
“The reports lodged with police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC); we will let the authorities investigate. The party polls cannot be delayed, this is what I want to stress,” said the Port Dickson lawmaker.
A Bernama report quoted JPP chairman Datuk Rashid Din of having said in a statement yesterday that the election in the Julau PKR division will not be held again because a scrutiny of the votes recorded and the technical analysis show that no votes have been dropped out and the results of the poll are actually acceptable.
Rashid had added the vote count result analysis proved that all data were safe and had been successfully uploaded to the cloud server system although the e-votes applications at six tablets had been swept clean by the “Prey Anti-Theft” software.
He said JPP held a meeting on Monday and heard explanations from the Operating, System and IT Units and took into account the technical reports from the developer of the e-voting system.
“The results of the PKR election for the Julau division, Sarawak, will be uploaded in the official portal of the Party Election (www.pemilihan keadilan2018.com) in the near future,” he said.
Last Saturday, the media reported that 10 units of e-voting tablets used for the Julau PKR division election were found to have been installed with the Prey Anti-Theft software.
